Your existing VAST applications contain years of business logic, integrations, operational knowledge, and proven processes. Extending those applications with AI should not require replacing those systems.
In this webinar, the Instantiations team will demonstrate current capabilities and discuss work that’s already underway to help VAST applications participate in AI-driven workflows.
You will learn how the VAST AI Assistant helps developers explore and work with VAST applications, how VAST ADK (Agentic Development Kit) can support building and coordinating AI agents in Smalltalk, and how MCP (Model Context Protocol) connects agents with defined application capabilities and external tools.
Through practical examples, we will explore workflows that bring together existing VAST business logic, AI models, external systems, and human review. We will also discuss the architectural decisions behind these workflows: what agents can access, which actions require approval, and what remains under application control.
The session will close with a brief preview of a governed Python interpreter implemented in Smalltalk and running directly inside VAST. This work is creating another path for Python developers to contribute to existing VAST applications and interact with their business logic. A future webinar will take a closer look at Python development inside VAST, and explore that work in greater depth.
