Completing the connections
The first thing you need to accomplish as a DDE client is to create the DDE communication connection to the server. Do this by connecting the Window part's aboutToOpenWidget event to the DDE Client part's connect action. Connect the DDE Client part's item_string attribute to the Client Text part's object attribute. Now, whenever the DDE Client part receives a broadcast for item_string from the server, it will update the Text part with the string received from the server.
Testing your window
Save your work and then test it as follows:
1. Type some text in the Server Text part. The text will appear, keystroke by keystroke, in the Client Text part.
2. Type some text in the Client Text part. The text will appear, keystroke by keystroke, in the Server Text part. This happens for two reasons. First, DDE is a two-way communication vehicle. Second, because the connections between the text parts and the DDE parts are not read-only, the DDE Client part updates the DDE Server part whenever the object attribute of the Client Text part changes.
