Using the DDE Client part
To give the DDE Server something with which to communicate, add

Open the settings for the DDE Client part. You will see a window that looks like the following:
The settings for the DDE Client part must correspond to the settings for the DDE Server part. Type in samewindow for the Server name and topic for the Topic. Select New item to add a new row to the table. Specify item for Item and string for Format.
Select OK to accept the changes to the settings page.
