Using a resource DLL
Now that you have your icons prepared in a resource DLL, you are ready to extend the parts palette.
To add a category, type Athletes or the name that you want for your category in the Category Name text-entry field. Next, type userpal or the name of your resource DLL in the category graphic Module Name text-entry field. The graphic will disappear because there is no resource with the resource id 150 in userpal.dll. Now type 800 in the ID text-entry field, or the resource ID of the icon in your resource DLL. Your icon's graphic will be displayed.
Follow the same procedure for adding your open category graphic, typing 802 in the ID text-entry field. Finally, select OK.
Note:
Do not type the .dll file extension in the Module Name text-entry field.
Your category is added at the bottom of the parts palette with the specified icon. Try holding the mouse pointer over the category you just added until the hover help window appears. You will see Athletes, the name of your new category, in the hover help window. Click on your new category and you will see your Open Category graphic appear. Click on another category and your Category graphic will reappear.
