Database connection specifications
Use the Database connection specifications window to connect to a database manager, define a new database connection specification, update a database connection specification, or delete a database connection specification.
Connection specification tables
Use the All loaded connection specifications table to work with any connection specification that is currently loaded into your image.
Use the <application> connection specifications table to work with connection specifications that are defined in the current application. Connection specifications that are defined in prerequisite applications are not visible in this window, but they are visible in the settings for the database parts.
Fields
Each connection specification table has the following fields:
Alias
A name for the database connection specification. You create an alias for a database connection specification on the New database connection specification window.
Database Manager
The name of the database manager.
Database name
The name of the database.
Prompt?
Whether you are to be prompted for database logon information when you connect to the database manager. You can set this option on the New database connection specification window.
Active?
Whether you are currently connected to the database manager.
Pop-up menu choices
Each connection specification table has a pop-up menu with the following choices:
Select Connect to connect to the selected database manager.
Select Disconnect to disconnect from the selected database manager.

Opening Database connection specifications
You can get to the Database connection specifications window in the following ways:
Select Database connections from the Options menu on the Organizer.
Select Specs from the Multi-Row Query - Settings, Database Query - Settings, or SQL Statement - Settings window.
