Creating versions of components

This chapter describes how to create versions of components. After a version of a component is made, no changes can be made to that version.

You can create versions of the following types of components:

•	Class editions

•	Application editions (including subapplication editions)

•	Configuration map editions

When you create a version, you assign it a version name. The name can be the default of 1.0, 2.0, and so on. Or, it can be a name that helps you identify the version's contents, such as Best test.
