Draw a connection between parts

To draw a connection between two parts:

1.	Using mouse button 2 (or, for UNIX, mouse button 3), click on the part from which you want to begin a connection (the source part).

2.	From the source part's displayed pop-up menu, select Connect > <attribute, event, or action>.

If the pop-up menu doesn't list the specific attribute, event, or action that you want, select All features. Selecting All features opens a Connections window that lists all attributes, events, and actions of a part. The type of Connections window that you get depends on the type of connection that you're making. In this window, select an attribute, event, or action and then select OK.

3.	Once you make the selection, you'll see instead of your mouse pointer and a red line running from the source part to the

4.	Using mouse button 1, click on the part that will end the connection (the target part).

5.	From the target part's displayed pop-up menu, select an attribute, event, or action. Again, if the pop-up menu doesn't list what you want, select All features. Then, in the displayed Connections window, select an attribute, event, or action and select OK.

If the connection's a dotted arrow

Most connections have solid lines. If a connection requires parameters, the connection appears as a dotted arrow on the free-form surface, and the parameters appear as attributes of the connection. Parameters specify what value an action should use or an attribute should take.

You can connect the dotted arrow's attributes to other parts to set values for the attributes. Or, you can open the settings view of the connection and specify constant parameter values.
