Select Auto commit to have changes automatically committed to the database.

Select Defer updates if you do not want changes sent immediately to the database.

Select Lock row on edit to have the row of the database locked when the user is editing it (i.e. it is the current row).

The Columns to Update list shows all the columns you can update. Select from this list which columns of the database you want to update.

The Columns to use as index list shows the columns you can use as an index for locking and updating. You can use the Available push button to see actual indexes that are defined in the database. The columns that you choose should uniquely identify a row.
