The environment promotes concurrent development of consistent components by allowing only component owners or managers to control the contents of their components. Your team can make use of these built-in controls by assigning appropriate roles to team members and by periodically releasing versions of classes and, on a team-wide basis, of applications and configuration maps. These periodic releases--called baselines or builds--enable your team to synchronize and catch inconsistencies among components.
