The path to the directory in which the Smalltalk image was started can be obtained by sending the startUpDirectory message to the CfsDirectoryDescriptor class. This path is in a format acceptable to CfsDirectoryDescriptor class>>#chdir:, and therefore might or might not end with a path separator. CfsDirectoryDescriptor class>>#startUpDirectoryPath answers the full path ending with a path separator. This latter format is suitable for concatenation of paths.
