Viewing methods
To view the source code for a method, open a development browser that displays code. For example, return to the Hierarchy Browser open on the class CfsError. (To open the browser, select Browse Hierarchy from the Tools menu; then type CfsError.)
To view the code for a method such as isCfsError, select CFS-API if your browser displays method categories, and then select the method isCfsError listed in the upper right pane. The code for the public instance method isCfsError is shown in the lower pane.
To expand the list of methods to include all public instance methods implemented in the class CfsError, select all of the applications and all of the categories.
To expand the list of methods to include all methods supporting CfsError, from the Methods menu, select Method Visibility > To Root Class. Again, select all of the categories.
The list of methods now includes all public instance methods that meet any of the following criteria:
•Methods defined in CfsError
•Methods extending CfsError
•Methods inherited from superclasses of CfsError. (The name of the superclass implementing the method is in parentheses.)
The CfsError class and any instances of it can make use of these methods. For example, note that browse (Object) is in the list of public instance methods. The class Object defines browse. But CfsError inherits the method, so can use it. Executing the expression CfsError browse opens a Class Browser on the class CfsError.
Thus far, you have seen only public instance methods of CfsError. By selecting push buttons underneath the categories and methods panes, you can also view public class methods, private class methods, and private instance methods.
To restore the list so it shows only methods implemented in CfsError, from the Methods menu, select Method Visibility > No Inheritance.
