This book is designed to help VA Smalltalk programmers use the communications features. The book includes information on the visual communications parts as well as how to use the classes that make up the communications features. This book introduces you to:

•How build VA Smalltalk client applications that communicate with remote systems by using the communication parts from the VA Smalltalk Parts palette.
•How to work with the basic VA Smalltalk communications classes.
•How to create a server application with VA Smalltalk parts.
•Describes EHLLAPI and explains how you can use the EHLLAPI support to build VA Smalltalk / VAST Platform client applications that interact with 3270 terminals.
