The Script pane in the Script Editor provides editing space for source code, comments, and notes. The push button under this pane shows which type of information you are currently editing.

To edit script (or method) source code, you can either type the code directly into the pane or import expressions from one of the Scripting windows. When you select an expression in one of the Scripting windows, you can add it to the Script pane by selecting the Paste push button. You can use it as it is, or adapt it to meet your needs.

To work with code in the pane, you can use the Edit menu to perform the editing choices Cut, Copy, and Paste. You can also run code in the pane by using the choices Execute, Display, and Inspect.
