Finding applications, parts, or methods

To have VA Smalltalk search through your image and find applications, classes, or methods whose name contains a particular string or which use a particular method, do the following in the Find window:

1. In the Find field, type the name of the application, class, or method that you want to browse. Searches are case-sensitive, so type the name with the appropriate uppercase or lowercase letters.

For wildcard searches, use an asterisk (*). For example, to browse classes that have the string Edit in their names, type *Edit*

If you have used the Find operation before, you can select a string from the drop-down list, which contains the last 20 strings searched.

2. From the Find As radio buttons, select the type of component you want to browse:

•Application

•Class

•Implementors of method

•Senders of method

•References to name

3. Select OK.

With a wildcard search, you get a list of "string matches." Select the application, class, or method that you want to browse and then OK.
