Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

java speed

finds documents containing 'java' or 'speed'

java or speed

same as above

java and speed

finds documents containing both 'java' and 'speed'

java not speed

finds documents containing 'java' but not 'speed'

(java not speed) and JOVE

finds documents containing 'JOVE', plus 'java' but not 'speed'

ja*

finds documents containing words starting with 'ja'
