Agitar Software is Withdrawing from the Market

As reported in SD Times, Agitar® Software, Inc., is winding down its operations. The company recently notified its customers of its withdrawal from the market.

Instantiations has announced an immediate trade-in program for AgitarOne™ customers. In the same category of automated code quality products as AgitarOne, Instantiations CodePro AnalytiX™ is one of the most popular automated testing and quality improvement software development tools available for Java.

AgitarOne Trade-In Program Description

Instantiations is offering existing Agitar customers a cost-effective trade-in program to comparable Instantiations products. The goal of this program is to ensure that Agitar customers maintain business continuity by offering them a viable pathway to premier automated software quality and testing tools from Instantiations.

All current Agitar customers who hold a valid software license can acquire a comparable CodePro AnalytiX product from Instantiations. The trade-in program, effective through July 31, 2008, is structured on a “one license for one license” basis. The advantaged pricing for an Agitar license trade-in is simply the annual maintenance fee for the comparable Instantiations product (CodePro AnalytiX desktop or server edition), which is equal to 35% of the list price. AgitarOne JUnit Generator created JUnit tests on code. This helped find regressions and made it safer and easier to improve code to reduce the cost to maintain it. AgitarOne Agitator helped developers understand the behavior of their code as they wrote it. This helped prevent bugs and prevent code complexity that can become future maintenance headaches. AgitarOne offered server-based deployment where multiple servers could be clustered to support organizations of any size. AgitarOne products included the following functional capability:

• Automated JUnit Generation — Automated the generation of JUnit tests to create a "safety net" before developers started working with existing code.
