Options: Layout

Menus
If you are unsure where VA Java ends and VA Assist takes over, this
option will help you out by pre-pending a "@" symbol before
every VA Assist-added menu item.
Determines whether the various workspace solutions menus appear (e.g., Add
Solution, Delete Solution, Replace
Solution).
Note: with a remote repository connection or
a slow network connection to a local repository, you may want to turn this
option off as these features
generate additional repository traffic and may lead a slowdown in your
ability to access the various workspace menu options.
Determines whether the various user management menus appear on the
various Manage menus. The "Clear Library Cache" will clear all
cached information dealing with super
groups (which is necessary if the Administrator has changed any super
group configurations).

Note: with a remote repository connection or
a slow network connection to a local repository, you may want to turn this
option off as these features
generate additional repository traffic and may lead a slowdown in your
ability to access the various Manage menu options.
Browsers
The normal orientation within the VA Java browsers places the text
editing area below the project/package/type/method selection lists.
Selecting the "Flip Orientation" option from the Windows menu
place the text editing area to the right of the selection lists which are
then stacked on the left. This option will cause the latter orientation to
be used by all browsers by default.
When this option is selected, only the Projects page in the workbench
window has its orientation flipped by default. The other browsers and
pages are unaffected.
Normally, VA Java does not display edition names next to projects,
packages and types. In order to see the edition names, you must select the
"Show edition names" command from the Windows menu. With this
option on, the edition names will be show by default.
Normally, VA Java does not remember the location of any dialog that the
user has opened and re-positioned. This can be very annoying, for example,
when repeatedly accessing the Find/Replace dialog. With this option turned
on, VA Assist adds a "Pin Location" checkbox to all dialogs.
When that checkbox is checked, the position of the dialog will be recorded
and the dialog will be re-opened in that position the next time it is
accessed.
Always remember (e.g., hide "Pin
Location" checkboxes)
When this option is checked, the "Pin Location" checkboxes
will not appear, but VA Assist will always record the positions of all
dialogs.
This button clears all the stored dialog locations.
VA Java records any changes you make to browser layouts (e.g., browser
size, orientation, active page, etc.). The "Clear All Layout
Settings" button allows you to clear all of this recorded layout
information effectively reverting the settings to those that would be in
effect for a new workspace. The "Import" and "Export"
buttons allow you to save and retrieve these layout settings to/from a
file. This gives you a way to preserve all of your layout changes when
moving to a new workspace.
