What's New? And what is planned?

Version 7.5 (released in 2007).
Read the Press Release on 7.5 »

Current version is 7.5.2. See also the version history and product roadmap »

Version 7.0 was identical in functionality to VisualAge Smalltalk 6.0.3. Version 7.0.1 was identical in functionality to VisualAge Smalltalk 6.0.4. Features didn't change, to promote easy porting from VisualAge to VA Smalltalk.

Transition from VisualAge Smalltalk (from IBM) to VA Smalltalk 7 (from Instantiations)

In 2005, Instantiations assumed responsibility for ongoing development of the VisualAge Smalltalk technology base. The result was a new, modernized, VAST-based product called VA Smalltalk™. Since it's 100% VisualAge compatible, this ensures existing IBM VisualAge Smalltalk customer business needs and requirements are met.

What about support? VA Smalltalk comes with 12 months of full support and upgrades, which can be renewed annually.
